Stay surrounded by Hobart's industrial past -
From 1900 the top floor of the building was used for wool treatment and, therefore, required the natural light offered by the striking saw-tooth roofline. This style of roofing allowed the maximum amount of light into the room for the weaver’s benefit.
In later years, the area was used for storage of other agricultural products. Farmers could drive their vehicles in one double door, deliver or receive their goods and then drive out the other. These double doors form part of the restored exterior.
The National Trust has listed the parts of the building as being of historic importance and as such, both the facade and the saw-tooth roofline are features that must remain in tact. The Old Woolstore was awarded “Best Redeveloped Industrial Building” in 1997 by the Trust.
The original floors have been maintained and, rather than destroy original equipment used at the wool store, many have been retained and incorporated as features in the corridors and common areas of the apartment hotel.

Take the 10 minute walk to the waterfront and explore your way up Constitution Dock until you reach Salamanca. Shop the famous Salamanca market on Saturday mornings or browse the array of shops along Salamanca Place. Enjoy breakfast at one of the many cafes before you make your way up Kelly's Steps to the historic suburb of Battery Point. Pick up a pastry at Jackman & McRoss to enjoy while you explore.

Start with breakfast in bed before walking down to Brooke Street Pier on the waterfront, just 10 minutes away. Browse the handcrafted local products located inside while you wait for the Mona Ferry to take you down the River Derwent to Mona Museum. If after a day of explore the wild art of Mona you're still itching for more, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra is located just across the road from The Old Woolstore with an array of concerts in their series.

Take the short walk down to Pennicott Wilderness Journeys dock at Hobart Waterfront. Board the Bruny Island Traveller for a full day of tasting your way across Bruny Island, visiting some of the artisian producers while you take in the spectacular scenery and wildlife. This includes Bruny Island Cheese & Beer Co, Bruny Island Chocolate Company, Get Shucked Oysters and Bruny Island Honey.

Explore historic Richmond, a 25 minute drive from The Old Woolstore. Feed the ducks at Richmond Bridge and treat yourself at the famous lolly shop. As you make your way back to your home away from home, stop at one of the may restaurants and vineyards you drive past - Coal Valley Vineyard, Coal River Farm or Frogmore Creek Cellar Door & Restaurant.
